Cherry Womp Womp (Fail Friday)

When we are in the kitchen we think up crazy ideas and last week it was "Cherry Bang Bang" which really turned into "Cherry Womp Womp."
Our idea came from a chocolate cayenne cupcake that we get at our local saloon. So we decided that a chocolate cherry cayenne bar would taste awesome. It did but at the same time we put in too much cayenne. The mixture was too creamy and it turned into fudge. Not exactly what I would call a success story.
We found ourselves rushing for glasses of milk and in my case trying to take it like a champ and just stomp my foot until the burning left. It was sweet and then rapidly too hot for either one of us and we both love spicy. So lol, needless to say this is something we will have to work more on until we can get it just right in our shop.
I favor the flavoring and the recipe itself while V is a bit unconvinced. Either way that was our failed recipe for Fail Friday.

Whoa, Thursday!

V here! I get to write the blog today. Yay! I do things.

So last night we had an explosion of sales. That's amazing. We will definitely be busy on Sunday filling all those orders and sending them out on Monday.

As you may have noticed, someone left us a negative response ( which I personally feel is a little harsh and should just be a neutral.  ). But the silver lining in all of this is we are now reevaluating our packaging to make sure everything ships out ridiculously fresh. 

Getting better and yummier every day.

We are putting our Chadder  Jalapeno up soon. It is sooooooooo good. I whipped up a batch for myself last night and pretty much inhaled it. :3

Tomorrow on our blog we are introducing our "Fail Friday" which will happen once in a while. It's where we tell you ideas we feel have potential but failed in the kitchen and see if you guys have any tips or tricks to help us out.

Hey everyone todays segment of "Where have you seen us", is actually pretty awesome. We have more than "Mycraft" screen shots. This one was taken from another Etsy users blog. We were one of the top things she loved for the week/day. Which is awesome.

Also a bit of a header before we fully get into this. Captchas are not loading on blogger. I have actually been reading most of your blogs but I cant respond as long as you have a bottom loader. We were also tagged by myminimocs for the 6 for 6 and this is what I have and I failed horribly. My sixth folder is a webdesign folder that has only xml code in it which means I couldnt use it. My folder next to it is a program launch folder so I dont have any images in it.
So then I opened a folder in which I new there was images and counted to the 6th folder from there and it turned out to be all photoshop documents. Lol, needless to say my job and work owns my computer. So I went into a new folder then to find that there was only 3 images in it. So here is the third image of the 9th folder...

Fashion as Defined by Blu Sparrow

So this week our band Blu Sparrow went out and got ourselves a little bit "Indie" and in my players case a bit bum like. Lol, but regardless today we introduce to you our new pictures and a seller who we think matches are current style.

When you search for indie you get a ton of stuff that isnt INDIE. Steampunk is not INDIE and buttons with keys on the are not INDIE. Why we picked this hat. Most indie kids are wearing their little newspaper print hats or in some cases just normal skull caps but this one has that little bit of extra flare. Blu With Envy

Today's Blu With Envy is bakedfresh's Blackberry - Pecan Thumbprints. Which I cant eat because of the pecans but they still look hella delicious!Mmmm, just think about these guys warm, toasty, and dripping blackberry from the center. *drools*

Birds of a Feather

So doing the whee hours of sleep I received an email in our yahoo box. Normally this is something I would keep for "Where's Blu Sparrow" Wednesdays but its tooooo exciting. We have been trolling around on Etsy (and by troll I mean playfully existing) for about 2 weeks and we have made it in the gift guide!
What was awesome was that our bird of a feather sophiehillartist who is all the way on the other side of the world from us. Which means that people love us long time :D
So here are 7 awesome facts about our fine feathered friend:

1. Her would cuts are awesome. From rabbits to birds to feathers and back again she holds her own in any woodshop and any jewelry collection!
2. Okay first thought when you see those awesome black bird rings are "Awwww, I just might poke my eye out with that awesomeness." Truth be told your heart will soar when you get it so why not say screw your eyes and buy it.
3. The fabric rings and anything fabric if you ask me are apart of an old trend made new again so if you aren't rocking anything fabric DO IT...of course buy it from her I mean.
4. Yes yes I know everyone on etsy makes "hair sliders" or as I call them bobby pins but why not have some that look amazing and trendy??? Her's do!
5. Her Brooches come in fabric and in wood cut form which makes the selection even better and even more easier to search by for that special someone.
6. I LOVE THE BIRD EARRINGS....lol I bet you can guess why
7. She complete supports us like a good Etsy family should do. Even though we are not related by blood(at least I think not) we are still flying strong together.

We sold our first ETSY order of Sparrow's Eggs yesterday and by the sheer grace of location we were able to just deliver the young lady her batch of eggs personally. Needless to say she loved them!!!!

If it burns it must be good! Phoenix Good!

The theory used to be if it burned it was working. A few products come to mind Listerine, weight loss videos, and hair perms. Now all those things are yucky and dont stand for anything Blu Sparrow would be about. Lol, which is why our Phoenix Popcorn is our one thing that burns with spicy flavors from Mexico that even you will feel reborn again.

Fashion Defined by Blu Sparrow

Between our real life jobs we try to find time to play around and have some fun on Saturday here at Blu Sparrow. So needless to say we play alot of video games and in this case Rock Band 2. We dress our characters up and sometimes things get a little crazy...well more on my end. Lol, with that being said today everyone gets to see fashion defined by the rock band versions of Blu Sparrow.
So the current style to represent would be 1920's flapper and mobster style.

189 pages came up for 1920 in the etsy search and according to etsy that means I went through 3722 items. Needless to say there are a ton of shops on etsy who make things from the 1920/s. A Very Blu Valentine

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone who reads our blog. Since its Saturday us here at Blu Sparrow are going to take the time to pick a sweet we saw on Etsy that we just simply loved and became jealous of. So I guess we should call this "Blu With Envy".


This weeks sweet comes from "asacco9642" on etsy. Our selection from their store is the Vegan Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookies. I scrolled through about 6 pages on etsy before I hit these guys and just loved the way they look. So soft and the peanut butter just oozing out. Mmmm, simply amazing shot of the perfect moment. I myself am not a vegan but this looks good enough for even the most unhealthy omnivore. Which would be me :)

These guys are our "On The Rocks" selection of chocolates. 2 shots of lovely chocolates wrapped in caramel and topped with out cocoa powder. Its enough to make anyone take a hit from this chocolate bottle of goodness. Chocolate rolled in a layer of caramel and more chocolate that is finally dusted with cocoa...I can hear mouths watering now.

Taco Fiesta

Today we are introducing our taco flavor. I the idea came to us when we started think spicy but not too spicy. We wanted something with a tinge of UMPH! So we made "Taco". It is considered mild at best and no where near grab a glass of milk hot. We saved that privilege for another of our popcorns.
Taco is considered a nice southwest blend of spices covering the popcorn giving it the flavor and appearance of a nice taco.
